What is play therapy?
I am a registered play therapist- which can be the most fun job in the world (in my opinion)! I get to help kids (and grown-ups too) with their feelings, problems or worries and learn ways to feel better. I use creative activities, art, sand tray and games to help talk about feelings and learn ways to feel better.
Play is universally known to help self-expression, relieve feelings of distress, boost self confidence and healthy connections, help with problem solving and regulating emotions (Landreth, 2022). Your child will learn & practice helpful skills through play, which makes it more fun and likely to stick for when they need to use the skill.
